Fire ravages part of Bingo Charaima on Margarita Island

On October 14th at approximately 9:30 pm, an ardent fire destroyed part of the casino located in the city of Porlamar, Venezuela

Bingo Charaima, located on Avenida 4 de Mayo in Porlamar, which had been closed since last March due to the effects of the pandemic, registered a fire that started on the upper floor of the facility.

No one got injured, but the equipment and the building itself suffered significant damages. After the outburst, the security agencies surrounded the area and restricted the passageway until the fire was completely controlled. The Nueva Esparta fire brigade extinguished the fire.

The causes of the  fire are still unknown. A technical commission of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminalistics Investigation (CICPC) started a investigation which will conclude the possible cause of the fire and point of ignition.

Porlamar is one of the areas of Venezuela with the highest number of bingo halls, located mainly in the Avenida 4 de Mayo. In the “Charaima” area one can also find the ‘Las Vegas’ and ‘Reina Margarita’ establishments.
